Video FA1769 – Charging, Pass & Crash

This game clip has been published for educational purpose only.
ON THIS PLAY,On this play, Blue-5 passes the ball to Blue-15 and then charges into defender White-4. This is an offensive foul on this pass-and-crash type play.
■ The defensive player moves into a legal position prior to the start of the offensive player’s upward motion.

Consider this:

A defender is permitted to establish his legal guarding position in the path of a player passing by being in position prior to the start of the upward motion. It does not matter whether the offensive player was attempting to shoot or pass prior to the illegal contact; since the contact was caused by the offensive player, and the defensive player was in a legal guarding position, this is an offensive foul on this pass-and-crash type play.
