Consider this:

Officiating is being in the right place at the right time to make the right call.

Positioning is the key factor. Gain a good position to have a clear view of play action.

There is a high correlation between the location of the official and the accuracy of his decisions.

Keep on the move as the play comes towards you and try to maintain the best possible position and a wide angle of vision between the defensive and offensive players. Be on top of the play when you make the call.

The referee’s reading of a game will improve with experience. Be prepared to anticipate the next move.

Pay attention to the positioning of the Trail and Centre Officials in this video. Both don’t have a clear view of play action.
