Fast break is one of basketball’s most exciting plays.

  • The Center Official must help the new Lead Official during the fast break to have full coverage in transition.

On this play, the Center Official is responsible to call a goaltending violation.

  • Run, stop and referee the play.




  • The Goaltending Violation causes the game clock to be stopped and the ball to become dead. Any time during the game, Substitutions shall be permitted to either team or both teams.
